Maddie Makes Lasting Impression On Free Press Writer

This past Tuesday, February 21, 2012, Maddie Grace was featured in the Lifestyle section of the Chattanooga Times Free Press. The article, entitled “YouTube helps teen country starlet build a fan base”, was written by Casey Phillips, writer for the Times Free Press. Mr. Phillips wrote another article entitled “Thrill of discovery in an unexpected talent” in the “Current” which is a small weekly local magazine that comes out in the Times Free Press featuring local happenings in the area.
The first article was very good and basically told all about Maddie including her YouTube success and other performances she has taken part in over the past few years. Here’s a link to this article for those of you who haven’t had a chance, you can check it out here. We went to meet Mr. Phillips and he interviewed Maddie. Maddie also sang a few songs in the Times Free Press photo studio while their photographer took a few pictures. Maddie had such a good time and everyone we met at the paper was so nice.
This evening I discovered that Mr. Phillips had written a second article which came out in today’s “Current”. This article basically gives the back story of how Casey found out about Maddie and how impressed he was with her voice the first time he heard her. This article is also very good! (Check it out here). I guess Maddie really made a lasting impression with Casey Phillips – Maddie and I are both very happy that he is giving her some much needed buzz here in the Chattanooga area! Thanks Casey!

Maddie Grace to Perform at the Acoustic Cafe in Ringgold Georgia

Maddie Grace and I will be performing at the Acoustic Cafe in Ringgold, Georgia on Thursday, November 10, 2011. We played an open mic night at the Acoustic Cafe three weeks ago. We were then asked to come back and play a full show! Maddie and I will be playing three sets (roughly 2 1/2 hours) of material – we will be working hard so that we can put on a good show for everyone! This will be Maddie’s first performance of this length and she’s extremely excited to get the opportunity. We are hoping to have a good turnout so that they will invite us back in the future.
The Acoustic Cafe is located at 61 Rbc Drive in Ringgold, Georgia (just ten minutes below Chattanooga,TN). It sits up on the hill behind the Cracker Barrel just off of I-75. It’s in a small strip center consisting of white metal buildings with blue quarter-round awnings. You can call them at 706-965-2065 if you need directions (or put the address above in your GPS).
This venue is family friendly and has great food! I had some awesome wings when we played at the open mic night!
Email me at info@maddiegracemusic.com if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing everyone there!

Maddie Grace’s Online Audition for “Majors & Minors”

Maddie Grace has sent in a video audition for a new television show, “Majors & Minors”, to air this fall on the hub network. The new reality show will feature 15 young performers between the ages of 8 and 16. These performers will be taught by the best of the best in the music business to prepare them for their career in music. The coolest thing about the show is that nobody is voted off through the season! Each young performer will leave at the end of the season well mentored for their own music career. One lucky winner will receive a recording deal with Sony RCA/Jive Label Group! There are many talented kids that have auditioned both live and on the internet – we have our fingers crossed that they pick our own Maddie Grace! We’ll keep everyone posted on her progress in the auditions!

The first part of the audition consists of Maddie telling everyone a bit about herself, the second half is a performance of “Wayfaring Stranger”. Check out her audition and let us know what you think! We will be posting several new videos in the next week or so – so keep your eyes pealed for some new Maddie Grace videos! Here’s a link to her audition video: Maddie Grace’s Majors and Minors Audition – Wayfaring Stranger We hope you enjoy it!

Maddie Grace to Sing the National Anthem at the TSSAA Boys State Basketball Championships!

Maddie Grace will be singing the National Anthem tomorrow morning in Murfreesboro, Tennessee at the TSSAA Boys State Basketball Championships (Murphy Center – MTSU). Maddie is very excited and will be performing in the morning before the days events. Maddie had oral surgery last week to uncover and begin the process of moving a tooth in the roof of her mouth and is still a little sore, but is up to the task. We’ll post an update tomorrow evening to let everyone know how it went!

Nashville Traditions and Faith Baptist Church Tornado Relief Concert

The fine people at Nashville Traditions asked Maddie Grace to sing at a benefit concert to raise money for families that were effected by the recent Tornado in Franklin County, Tennessee. Unfortunately, Maddie will be out of town that week and will be unable to sing; however, we hope you will visit their site and attend the event or make a donation to help in their efforts. Maddie Grace and Patrick Bales Win the VocoPro Singing Competition!

After a long wait we’ve finally learned that Maddie Grace and Patrick Bales were awarded the $2,000 first prize with their rendition of “Whiskey Lullaby” (as originally performed by Brad Paisley and Alison Krauss) in the 2011 VocoPro Singing Competition on Facebook. Maddie and I would like to thank everyone for their efforts and kind comments. I’m sure that these efforts and comments were not overlooked in the final selection of our video.

We would also like to thank VocoPro for their efforts in aiding in the selection of our video. Unfortunately, due to pervasive spamming and vote tampering on the part of a few of the contestants, VocoPro had to step in to preserve the integrity of their contest. They modified the selection process to ensure that a fair selection was made – see their page entitled VocoPro Professional Vocal Systems – Contest Winner Selection for more information on how they determined the winners.

Only Two More Days To Vote For Maddie Grace!

Hey Guys!
As you may already know, Maddie Grace is entered in the VocoPro singing competition on Facebook! There are only two more days left to vote! You can vote each day and we’d greatly appreciate it if you can! You may also know that over the past year Maddie has entered two other competitions and not placed in either one. One of these competitions was a pay per vote fund raiser and the other was an applause based competition. In each of these competitions we’ve learned two valuable lessons: Don’t enter a pay per vote competition expecting to win if you don’t personally have an unlimited supply of money to purchase your own votes – and – If you enter an applause based competition make sure your fans sit close to the stage! In saying this, it is my belief that Maddie has the best chance to place (if not win) this competition because she already has a good fan base on the internet! This contest is about motivating your fans, friends and family to not only vote once for you – but vote everyday for you! I’d like to thank everyone who has already voted and would like to encourage you to vote these last two days – it can really make a difference! For those of you who haven’t voted this is a great chance to show your support for Maddie Grace! It’s free and only takes a few minutes of your time! Thank you for supporting Maddie – Click Here to see the video and vote! Another note: You must wait 24 hours before voting a second or third time. Thanks again!

Maddie Grace Enters VocoPro Vocal Competition on Facebook with Her Father

Maddie and I recently recorded a duet of Brad Paisley’s “Whiskey Lullaby” for the VocoPro Vocal Competition on Facebook. The rules for the competition state that at least one of the participants must be 18 years old to enter the contest, so we had to pick a duet that we could sing together. The original recording was almost five minutes long and I removed several sections of the song in order to shorten the video to a total of four minutes (another contest rule).

Please click here and cast your vote for our version of “Whiskey Lullaby”. You can vote once a day until the competition ends on March 7th. The grand prize is VocoPro Recording Artist-300 Karaoke System valued at $2,000 – or – $2,000 cash.

You can see a higher quality version of the video on Maddie’s Youtube Channel – But make sure you still go to the contest page to cast your vote! I recommend watching the Youtube version at 720p on fullscreen.

Please share the contest link with your friends and family and vote every day if you can!
